Two distinct pest moth species account for the majority of Ithaca residential infestations: the webbing clothes moth and the Indian meal moth. They eat different things, live in different areas, and are controlled by different methods. Swatting adults or applying surface spray where they are seen leaves the larval population and its harborage undisturbed.

Eggs or larvae inside flour bags, cereal boxes, nut packets, or spice jars are undetectable at the point of purchase.
